Podiceps major (Boddaert)

Length 78 cms.

Greyish head with dark grey crest. Front part of the neck cinnamon brown. Sides and back grey. Bottom front o f neck, breast and abdomen white. Back and wing coverts dark grey with cinnamon spots. White spots on wings when they are flapping. Black tapering beak.
