Green-backed firecrown

Sephanoides (sephanoides) galeritus (Molina)

Male: green head with brilliant orange red crown. Green throat with brilliant bronze spots. On top green with bronze sheen. Underneath grey – green. Black straight beak.

Female: smaller than the male; crown lacks the red sheen, which is the same color as the back.
